SRK’s Followers On Twitter Cross 17,400

The usually reclusive Shah Rukh Khan joined Twitter early Sunday morning at 2.38 am under the ID, iamsrk.

Almost immediately, Twitterverse went berserk. Everyone from Riteish Deshmukh to Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Vivek Oberoi fell over themselves welcoming him, says a media report.

SRK’s best buddy, Karan Johar tweeted after Shah Rukh crossed the 10000-mark in 12 hours, “twitterverse in a tizz!!! iamsrk will am sure enjoy the twitterpower and add it to it in his own way….”

It was KJo who finally convinced SRK to join Twitter on January 3 after months of persuasion.

Says Karan, “I feel as if I am the unofficial brand ambassador of Twitter as I convinced so many people to join. Whereas Shah Rukh is concerned, I would get many comments on Twitter everyday and about 80 per cent of them would ask me to convey a message to SRK. I finally told him there were millions of people out there who had so much of love for him.”

Karan adds that till now Shah Rukh wasn’t keen on joining as he has so much happening in his life.

“Essentially Shah Rukh is a very shy person. Also, he doesn’t have too much time. Being a part of Twitter is like being in a relationship where you have to be faithful to your love (Twitter) and give it time every day. It’s your lover. When so many people love you, you make sure you deliver. Now SRK will be a committed lover on Twitter. He crossed the 10000 follower mark in half a day which shows how popular he is. Now that he has opened his heart, Shah Rukh will feel their love.”

He continues, “So finally yesterday Shah Rukh said okay. He understood the modalities and we (Shah Rukh, Karan and Kajal Anand) created his page.”

The next person who KJo is persuading to get onto Twitter is SRK’s My Name Is Khan heroine Kajol. “Kajol is very particular about keeping her personal life private so I don’t know if I will be able to convince her but I am definitely trying hard.”

I’m a disgrace to my maternal side says Soha Ali Khan

Actress Soha Ali Khan might have inherited acting skills from her Bengali mother Sharmila Tagore, but she says she is “a disgrace” to her “maternal side” because she can’t speak Bengali.”I don’t know Bengali… That ways I am a disgrace to my maternal side but I am working on it. I am learning it,” said Soha. Sharmila, however, came to her daughter’s rescue. “She is good. The thing is she is very careful. She can’t speak spontaneously but she does her homework and picks up the lines and then speaks them fluently,” Sharmila said.

The mother-daughter actress’ duo were in the capital on the first day of the first ever Pravasi Film Festival for the official screening of their first outing together Life Moves On.Turning around the cultural conflict between a father and his youngest daughter, with different sub-plots shown in flashback, it is a English-Bengali bi-lingual. Directed by debutante Sangeeta Datta, it also stars Girish Karnad, Om Puri, Rez Kempton, Neerja Naik, Mukulika Banerjee, Christopher Hatherall, Stef Patten and Aria Gitanjali Banerjee Watts.

Asked if Soha’s siblings – Saif and Saba – can converse in their mother’s tongue, Sharmila said: “They cannot because it is not the language spoken at home.” Soha, however, said: “I’m the best (at speaking Bengali amongst the three).”

Shahrukh Khan stabbed in the back?

The new year seems to have kicked off on a controversial note for the SRK camp. As if talks about the supposed crack between Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan weren’t enough, now reports suggest that Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder is planning to do a movie with the badshah’s arch-rival, Salman Khan.

Salman’s all-male birthday bash recently saw him and Shirish discussing a film jointly, which will be produced by Farah.Shirish and Salman had in the past worked in the former’s directorial dud debut, Jaan-e-Mann.Shirish claims that SRK turned him down when he asked the King Khan to work in his film, Tees Maar Khan.

The buzz goes that Shirish then decided to rope in his wife in the project, hoping that her ‘best friend’ SRK would then agree to do the film.But Shah Rukh still turned the project down. lastly, Farah approached Akshay Kumar for the film.

Kangana Ranaut wishes a bigger house

Kangana Ranaut is on a dissimilar mission these days. The actress is house hunting for herself. The reason being that Kangana wants her entire family to shift with her since her current residence is proving to be too small for that. Kangana, who hails from Manali is keen to call her parents over to stay with her.

But, her present house is not spacious enough to accommodate the whole family. Now, in order to set things straight, Kangana is looking for a duplex flat between Bandra and Juhu.Ever since she shifted to Mumbai, Kangna has been living without her family.

Though, her elder sister Rangoli lives with Kangana, but the actress is not going to enjoy till she calls her entire family over.

Ranbir and I are competitors: Neil

Their grandfathers were best friends, their fathers enjoy great camaraderie and Neil Nitin Mukesh says he and Ranbir Kapoor are pals too. But he also admits that there is healthy rivalry between them.

“Ranbir and I are of course competitors. But there’s no negative rivalry between us. Our respective fathers (Nitin Mukesh and Rishi Kapoor) would kill us if we behaved like two brats fighting for the same roles,” Neil said.

“I’m proud that Ranbir’s and my grandfather (Raj Kapoor and Mukesh) were very close friends. My father and Ranbir’s father adore each other. Ranbir is like my younger brother,” he added

Neil’s Jail and Ranbir’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani released on the same day.

“I’d want Ranbir’s film to do as well as mine,” Neil says. “Fortunately, Jail and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani look like north and south poles.”

Vidya Balan carries 45 kg boy on her shoulders.

Who says acting is easy? Not when you have to carry a boy weighing 45 kgs on your shoulders. Just ask actress vidya Balan, who had to go through the exercise for her film Paa — and ended up falling.

“In a scene, Vidya had to shoot with a child who is playing the younger version of Amitabh Bachchan in Paa. The scene required Vidya to carry him on her shoulders,” said a source.

“Vidya weighs 45 kgs and so did the boy. Vidya carried him on her shoulders nevertheless. Suddenly there was this loud thud and people saw that she had lost balance and fallen on the ground along with the boy. The actress still completed the shot,” added the source.

Paa, slated for a Dec 4 release, revolves around a father-son relationship. While Abhishek Bachchan plays the father, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen as his son who is suffering from a rare disorder called progeria.

Shilpa Shetty tying knot on 28th Nov

Shilpa Shetty has finally declared her wedding date. The much awaited ceremony will be take place on 28th November. Raj and Shilpa had already started making the preparations and the guests list include the big names of the industry and out of the industry.

“The venue is booked and the preparations for the same are going on very smoothly. The duo is just waiting for Shamita Shetty to come out of Bigg Boss house,” chirps the source.

The source further added, “The wedding will be taking place either in Jaipur or Udaipur, in one of the lavishing palaces. It’s definitely going to be a huge affair and the guest lists of VVIP guests have been prepared.”

Shilpa is waiting for her sister Shamita to come out of the Bigg Boss house. It is heard that Shamita will head to the wedding venue straight from the Bigg Boss house.

South Indian actress Asin made it all happen with her overnight success in Bollywood with Ghajini. With her London Dreams slated to hit the screens this weekend, the actress has got hold off some troubles that are popping up. Apparently, it’s all about the producers and filmmakers of Hindi film industry urging her to expose to glamorous shows and intimate sequences with her onscreen heroes.

Perhaps, the actress has been stuck to the rigid rules of not entertaining such factors from the moment she made high waves in South Indian Film Industry. According to the sources, Producer Vipul Shah of London Dreams had insisted her to wear skimpy costumes, which perturbed her a lot… But then again, ‘a rule is a rule’ says Asin, who has been persistently refusing the big offers merely because of such unfavourable scenarios.

Asin couldn’t believe her stars when Vipul Shah approached her for the role of music enthusiast and dancer Priya in the film opposite Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan. “ I love Vipul’s cinema, he showcases emotions really well and his films always have strong music. So it was actually a no-brainer that I wanted to be a part of this project immediately on hearing its script.” Asin is a part of Ajay Devgn’s rock band London Dreams also consisting of Aditya Roy Kapoor and Rannvijay.

Ajay who secretly loves Priya is shocked when his close friend Salman who he invites to be a part of his band starts developing feelings for her.Asin felt at home while essaying the role of Priya, “I play a South Indian girl, who is emotional but strong willed and ambitious at the same time.And she has two radically different sides to her. At home she’s a traditional girl clad in Indian outfits but the minute she’s out with friends, she’s a fire brand, and that shows in the way she dresses. A story of Hrithik’s two lovers

Before you stretch your eyes wide open let us clear the air this has nothing to do with Suzanne Khan or Barbara Mori but to do with his upcoming movie Guzaarish. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed unusual love story will have not one but two leading ladies.

Hrithik plays as a wheelchair bound paraplegic patient and Aishwarya Bachchan plays his nurse. But wait a second Ash is not the only lady in the movie. Bhansali has signed up with Bengali model Monikangana Dutta to play Hrithik’s former lover.

Aishwarya will be playing a married woman who falls for her paralytic patient and wants to end his misery by ending his life. Newcomer Aditya Roy Kapoor will be playing Aishwarya’s husband in the movie.
