Teenager Arrested For Trespassing Into Mumbai Raj Bhavan

Balusingh Sundelathakur, a 19-year-old teenager from Jhalawar, Rajasthan, on Saturday night entered the high-security premises of Maharashtra Raj Bhavan in Mumbai despite the presence of 110 security personnel guarding the premises, says a report in Mumbai Mirror.

He was found strolling along the beach of Raj Bhavan and was soon arrested.

Cops are still wondering how Balusingh managed to enter the high-security zone and came within metres of the main building.

An officer from Malabar Hill Police Station said, “If he had entered through the main gate, he has to pass at least five security rings. The main gate has 10 to 15 policemen manning the building round the clock. Then there is the first entrance, which has at least six police constables. Apart from it, there are standing points at each checkpoint, which has a gunman equipped with an SLR pointing at all visitors walking in.”

Balusingh told police that he entered through the servant quarters, which is currently under construction. Police say if he had entered through that route, he would have had to pass through the jungle to reach the beach point. Here too, there are at least five constables posted round the clock.

According to Malabar Hill police, two constables, S Binner and T Palkar, posted there, spotted Sundelathakur loitering around. They frisked him for weapons and after preliminary questioning, handed him over to the Malabar Hill Police Station.

Police has charged him of trespass under Bombay Police Act, 1951.
