While the entire world is raving Katrina Kaif’s performance in ‘New York’, she is finding hard to convince her boyfriend Salman Khan to watch the film. It is not only ‘New York’ but Salman Khan ignores every film of Kat and has watched none of her films till date. Says a close friend of Katrina, “It really really puzzles and hurts her as to why Salman chooses to ignore all her films. It isn’t as if he doesn’t watch any films.
He does. But when it comes to Katrina he suffers from a mental blockade. The over-possessive boyfriend doesn’t like the idea of watching Katrina coming close to any of her co-stars. In fact, he objects even if Katrina wears slightest of revealing clothes. But Katrina is the opposite; she makes sure that she does not miss any of Salman’s film.
Katrina is trying her level best to convince Salman to watch ‘New York’ but cannot as Salman Khan cannot stand John Abraham at all. Salman’s disliking for John has made Katrina’s work
Plane with 150 on board crashes in Indian Ocean
Moroni: An airliner belonging to Yemeni state carrier Yemenia Air crashed in the Indian Ocean archipelago of Comoros with 150 people on board, a senior government official said on Tuesday.
“We don’t know if there are any survivors among the 150 people on the plane,” Comoros Vice-President Idi Nadhoim told Reuters from the airport at the main island’s capital Moroni.
Nadhoim said the accident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, but could not give any more details.
The location was not immediately known, but a medical worker in the town of Mitsamiouli, on the main island Grande Comore, said he had been called into hospital.
“They have just called me to come to the hospital. They said a plane had crashed,” he told Reuters.
The Comoros covers three small volcanic islands, Grande Comore, Anjouan and Moheli, in the Mozambique channel, 300 km (190 miles) northwest of Madagascar and a similar distance east of the African mainland.
Jackson’s mother wins temporary guardianship of kids

Los Angeles: Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine has won the temporary guardianship of the late singer’s children and control of his estate as a legal battle over his kids, money and belongings began to take shape.
Katherine Jackson won the first round in what could become a protracted fight over an estate that could be valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars. It is unclear if Jackson drew up a will before he died.
Questions about the singer’s health prior to his death resurfaced on Monday when TMZ.com reported that Los Angeles County coroner officials returned to Jackson’s rented home looking for more medication.
Four days after the singer’s death from cardiac arrest, his father, Joe Jackson said the family was awaiting results of a second, private autopsy, and he expected to get details “real soon”. He said funeral arrangements had not been made.
“We don’t have a timeframe for that (the funeral) because I want to see how this autopsy is coming out,” Jackson said after a family meeting at his home in suburban Los Angeles.
Two autopsies have been carried out on Jackson’s body, one by the coroner’s office and a second by a private pathologist. Speculation about what caused Jackson’s heart to stop has centered on his prescription drug use, but toxicology tests are expected to take several more weeks.
The pop star died on Thursday at his rented Los Angeles home, days before kicking off a string of concerts in London that were designed to revive a career grounded by his 2005 trial and acquittal on child molestation charges.
On Monday, promoters AEG Live released pictures from a dress rehearsal two days before Jackson’s death. Jackson looks thin, but much like his typical singing and dancing self. AEG Live declined to comment on reports it had video footage of the rehearsals that could be released on DVD.
DNA confirms Shiney had sex with maid

The DNA test reports of rape-accused Shiney Ahuja have confirmed that the Bollywood actor had physical relationships with his teenaged maid who had alleged that the film star had raped her, a police official said here Monday.
‘We have received the test reports and they confirm the allegations made by the victim in the police complaint against the accused,’ Amitabh Gupta, Additional Police Commissioner of Mumbai (North Region) told IANS this evening. However, Gupta declined to comment further in the matter.
Independent sources said that the DNA samples of the accused matched the samples taken from the 18-year-old victim, who had also suffered scratch marks on her body.
Investigators had also taken samples of other articles from Shiney’s residence in the posh Versova area of Andheri west for evidence, including semen stains detected there.
The development comes a week after Shiney’s blood sample reports had nailed his claim that he was drunk when he was accused of raping his domestic help.
The blood sample report also clearly mentioned that he was not drunk and was in his full senses at the time of the incident that day.
Shortly after his arrest, Shiney’s wife Anupam had rushed to his defence and declared that he neither smoked nor consumed alcohol. The two latest reports could seriously blunt the actor’s self-defence.
On June 14, Shiney’s domestic help had lodged a police complaint alleging rape by the actor.
After his arrest, he was shunted to police custody and is presently in judicial custody till July 2 (Thursday).
If the charges against him are proved in court, Shiney faces a minimum seven-year jail sentence.
A team of the National Commission of Women (NCW) rushed to Mumbai and met all the concerned parties, including the victim and her family members.
Following the NCW visit, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had announced that the Shiney rape case would be transferred to a fast track court soon.

Lashkar, Jaish shifting bases to PoK: Report

Police in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir has revealed that groups like Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad are shifting bases to PoK following clampdown on their activities in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks, a media report said on Monday.
In a confidential report submitted to the government of Pakistan, PoK police has said these groups have acquired large pieces of land in and around PoK capital of Muzaffarabad and are pursuing “jehadi” agenda under the garb of religious activities, a prominent radio network reported.
“After the ban imposed on the Jamat-ud-Dawa (the front of Lashkar-e-Toiba) by the UNSC, Pakistan forces had taken control of their offices… the activities of the outfit had gone underground for some months, but have again become active,” the network quoted the report as saying.
The report said that the JuD has constructed a mosque, a school and a dispensary on the land acquired by them in Dulasi and further construction is on.
India has blamed the Lashkar-e-Toiba for carrying out the November 26 Mumbai terror attacks, in which close to 170 people lost their lives. JuD has, however, maintained that it has no links with the LeT.
The PoK police report also mentions the activities of other jehadi organisations like JeM and Harkatul Mujahideen which have also constructed madrassas near Muzaffarabad, the radio said.
JeM, which had carried out attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001, has also set up an office and Madarssa near Muzaffarabad.
Police has noted that most of the activities of the Jehadi organisations have been observed in Neelam Valley, near Line-Of-Control.
Extremists organisations have also set up offices in Kandil Shahi.

Delhi CM blames nature for power and water crisis

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday virtually washed her hands of the continuing power shortage in the city, saying nature was to be blamed for the problem.
“Nobody (in the administration) has failed. This is a very unusual situation wherein it’s very hot and the monsoon is delayed. Blame nature if anyone wants to, but we have done our best,” Dikshit said.
Delhi’s power demand on Monday afternoon was 4,261 MW, the highest this season. The city faced a power shortage of around 300 MW. The evening before, there were widespread protests over power cuts in Munirka.
People living in Munirka village had to go without electricity for nearly 24 hours after nobody turned up to repair a burnt transformer. Enraged by the blackout, the residents blocked the Outer Ring Road at night and shouted slogans.
Arun Kanchan, CEO of BSES, claimed that Delhiites were better off than rest of the country. “There is a power shortage all over the country. The situation is Delhi is much better. As of now, a load-shedding of 1 to 3 hours may be required in some areas,” Kanchan said.
In Mayur Vihar Phase 1, a resident stormed into his BSES office at midnight to register a complaint, but there was nobody to hear his plea. The area has been facing power cuts for 6 to 8 hours every day.
Meanwhile, BJP leader from Delhi, Dr Harshvardhan, said the chief minister had kept the Opposition out of meetings to resolve the power crisis. “The chief minister is lying. No member of the Opposition was invited for any meeting. She is betraying the people of the city,” Dr Harshvardhan said.
We Misjudge the pitch:MS Dhoni

India’s poor batting display in their eight-wicket defeat in the second ODI in Kingston owed to a misjudgment on the part of their batsmen about the pitch, MS Dhoni has said. Dhoni played a captain’s innings of 95, which rescued his team from a hopeless situation at 82 for 8, but proved woefully inadequate in the face of an attacking opening stand of 101 led by West Indies captain Chris Gayle.
“We should have paid a little more respect to the bowlers,” Dhoni said after the game. “The wicket was a bit difficult, it was swinging around a bit. We didn’t judge the wicket well and just went around playing our strokes which really brought our downfall.”
Dhoni was involved in a 101-run stand for the ninth wicket with RP Singh, who chipped in with a valuable 23. It was the fifth instance of a ninth-wicket pair putting on a century-partnership, and it saved India’s blushes after they were in danger of being bowled out for under three figures. “Once you lose too many wickets then the only thing that you are doing is catching up. RP and me had a partnership otherwise it would have been quite embarrassing,” he said.
India’s top and middle orders were blown away by some disciplined bowling from the West Indian seamers, led by Ravi Rampaul, who finished with a career-best 4 for 37. India were in trouble as early as the second over, when Rampaul dismissed Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma in a space of three deliveries, and West Indies retained the advantage for the remainder of the game.
India’s failure at the top, Dhoni believed, was decisive in their inability to post a challenging score, as the pitch had eased out by the time West Indies began their chase. “Later on, the wicket became better for batting,” he said. “When you are batting first, initially you expect the wicket to do a bit and it is the first half an hour and after that you can capitalise if you get up a good start.”
While Yuvraj Singh was at the crease India were in a position to fight back hard, but Dhoni added that reliance on just one individual – Yuvraj made a century in the series opener – was not going to win them matches. “Yuvraj is the man in form, he is getting the run for us but we can’t expect one individual to score in one and every game.
“You can’t expect to bowl the opponent out within 180, especially on a wicket like this. We just wanted to make it difficult. As long as we can stay on the wicket and make it difficult for them to score runs, that was the motivation.”
His opposing captain Chris Gayle was full of praise for the fast-bowling duo of Rampaul and Jerome Taylor, who set the stage for the series-levelling win.
“It is nice to square the series. There were some good performances from the guys,” he said. “Rampaul and Taylor set the game for us and from now we will look to go strength to strength. There was moisture in the wicket and Taylor and Ravi utilised it well, and the catching was also good, so we just need to keep working on our game.”
The West Indies selectors have retained the current squad for the remaining two matches. The teams get a four-day break before the third ODI at Gros Islet on Friday.

Security forces get to Maoist hub Kantapahari
Operations against Maoists in West Midnapore district on Monday entered a “critical phase” with security forces reaching Kantapahari, the hub of the Naxal-backed tribal agitation, without meeting any resistance from the ultras.
Around 1600 security personnel accompanied by CoBRA troops reached Kantapahari from both Lalgarh and Ramgarh ends.
DIG CID (Special Operations Group) Siddhinath Gupta said, “We did not meet with any resistance. We are halting here for the time being. The operation is now in a critical phase.”
The distance between Lalgarh and Kantapahari in the south and the Ramgarh to Kantapahari in the north is roughly five to six kilometre each.
The forces, comprising men of the CRPF, BSF, State Armed Police and India Reserve Battalion, set out at around 7:00 am from Lalgarh, which was secured on June 19 in the first stage of the operations, and Ramgarh, which was taken over last Saturday.
The forces from Lalgarh which made a reconnaissance of Amdanga, two km away on Saturday, then swiftly marched to Kantapahari.
A helicopter was in the air to spot the Maoists. Around 180 men of the CoBRA forces, who were driven in from Kharagpur, were accompanying the central forces and state police to sanitise areas.
Kantapahari, besides the surrounding villages of Boropelia, Chottopelia and Dalilpur Chowk, were the places where the tribals backed by Maoists had launched their agitation in protest against police atrocities in November last year.
Bodopelia is the home village of Convenor of the Peoples Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCPA), Chhatradhar Mahato, whom the security forces were looking for.
The PCPA had started the agitation to protest police raids on their homes after chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and two then union ministers, Ramvilas Paswan and Jitindra Prasad narrowly escaped a landmine blast at Salboni by Maoists in the district on November 2 last year.
The forces had secured Ramgarh, a village which held a large concentration of Maoists, in the second phase of the operations on Saturday. The operations by the security forces had been launched first on June 19, when a human shield of tribals was demolished swiftly at Pirakata.
A day later, the security forces marched into Lalgarh police station, which had been under siege from November last year
